“On a walk today we came across a jujube tree and we tasted the little brown fruits (I had seen one in Tuscany so knew what it was). Later we came across a fig tree and again tried the ripe fruits (we had a visitor from England with us so this was all quite exotic) . It gave me the idea later of checking on the fig tree next door and sure enough there were a few fruits and though they were small I picked a few of the larger ones from higher in the tree and had my subject.”
